I've got braces since a week ago and I was wondering if I could ride horses again. Do I need a mouth gear to protect my teeth? I'm working in a stable and it'll be boring if I can't ride for the next 2 years because I have braces.

Do you fall off your horse a lot?
You should be able to ride... I guess no trick riding where you put the reins in your mouth and stand on the saddle. lol

There should be no reason you couldn't ride horses with your braces. And if you are worried about scratching the inside of the mouth then go buy one of those mouth guards football players or wrestlers wear.
You can always ride first and see how it effects the inside of your mouth and go from there.

I don't see how having braces is even related to riding horses.. if you were boxing then maybe braces would be an issue, but what would it matter if you're on a horse?

Sure you can just get on and go. You don't need any gear at all. I have braces and you can ride all you want. Riding doesn't affect it.

If your teeth bump together a lot then yes u do need a mouth guard.
