my mom has a crack in her root canal, and has an infection that won't go away, it is in one of her molars. it has to be puled and she'll get a replacement one(fake tooth) that will be permanent, but might damage her mouth in the long run, and the infection won't go away if the tooth isn't pulled. the operation costs around $800-$1200 and we are fixing up a house that we will move into in mid june, is thereany other way to get rid of the infection? Please help!

CRAZYDRMMER,
THERE IS NO WAY TO REPAIR A ROOT FRACTURE IN A TOOTH THAT HAS HAD A PREVIOUS ROOT CANAL. EXTRACTION IS THE ONLY REMEDY.
UNFORTUNATELY, ANTIBIOTICS WILL ONLY WORK FOR A SHORT TIME. THE CAUSE OF THE INFECTION, THE CRACKED TOOTH MUST BE REMOVED.

Have it pulled, there is really no way to repair a badly cracked tooth and if it's infected it will only get worse.

By the way, there are some very serious complcations that can come from having an infected tooth, some can be life threatening.

No they need to give her antibiotics to help fight infection.

You can rinse mouth with antiseptic mouthwash or salt water or even peroxide. But these are just minor solutions.
You definately need the antibiotic that the doctor gives.
