Your orthodontist will make a mold of your teeth that is not painful. It doesnot hurt to have a retainer. It is quite simple to put in your mouth, the orthodontist will give you instructions. Yes, you will be able to take it on and off(like when you are eating. Your mouth might be a little, sore but it is just getting use to it.

Retainers should never hurt. Ask your orthodontist to show you how to properly remove or apply your retainer if you are not sure. If it hurts to wear, call your orthodontist right away, it may need to be altered.

I had one i put in every night. And it keeps ur teeth where they r now. Which i'm sure u knew. But it hurt me. B/c ur teeth shift a little during the day. So ur mouth will hurt b/c of the pressure u r putting on ur mouth to put ur teeth where they belong. It's kinda like when u first get ur braces pain.

CASSIE,
RETAINERS DO NOT HURT. ASK YOUR ORTHODONTIST HOW TO PROPERLY INSERT IT AND REMOVE IT.

No. Yes.

It will hurt, however, if you wear it after a long period of not wearing it.
