start to kick in I don't see the point of having insurence like the deductible for my daughter and I is 1,000 dollars a peice. We don't even get sick enough to pay 1000 dollars to a provider. Like for this year I would say my medical expenses for this year would probably be 300 dollars. Am I right about not seeing the point in getting this insurance?

I need to have my two upper wisdom teeth pulled and was wondering how long you can wait to have it done. I have to wait at least two more weeks for my appointment and was wondering if this is ok. I'm currently taking penicillin for the infection.

Both teeth were impacted badly and one of them were sideways in my mouth.I am 33 years old.I was doing Ok the first couple days(in alot of pain now).I went back to the oral surgeon today and he told me I have dry socket,he put something in my left side where the extraction was removed and it felt better right away.I was wondering why is my other side hurting now? I havent really had problems with it until today, and whatever he put in there, is that going to help it heal or is that just to take away the pain.I will try to explain it, it was like a little gauze and he placed it in the area and it had a funny taste to it.I still can taste it in my mouth 7 hours later. Please Help...

I went to the dentist (a rough older dentist who didn't pay attention to what was going on much) to get my molars filled. I had to get fillings in the upper and lower on my left side. Even after a year and 1/2 I still can't chew harder food on that side. I chew with ease on the right side which still has cavities.
That's not normal is it?
He did tell me in one of my upper molars I may eventually have to have a root canal. But my lower hurts too and I don't get why.
I know I have to go to the dentist again soon for more fillings and to get my wisdom teeth pulled...but defenatly not the same guy...he needs to retire!

My wisdom teeth are abscessed and getting removed in 2 days. I have been putting it off for about 4 years. Every morning for the past 2 years I wake up feeling nauseous and have an enormous headache, every single morning. Could my wisdom teeth be the cause of this? I DO drink OCCASSIONALLY...like once or twice a week. But not enough to give me a daily hangover! :) I was just wondering if my wisdom teeth could be the cause of it.

When I go to the dentist, I get scared and I don't know why. I know that he will be gentle with me, and that the shot will only hurt for a minute, but I still get jittery, and I have tears watering up in my eyes. I am 22 years old and this isn't normal. I have to go by myself on Wensday, and I need to know some ways on how to control my overwhelming feelings. My husband went with me the last 2 times and the first time I was crazy acting like I stated above, but this last time I wasn't as bad and I relaxed a little better. So my question is, what are some ways or things I could do or take to help me relax?

I have worked 17 years in the dental field. I quit working in the dental field for this very reason. I would like to know the answer. I worked for 3 different dentist and they were all the same. I do not believe they care about anything other than themselves and there pocket book. I am a mother of two. After working at least 10 hrs per day without a break and rarley receiving a full lunch hour I have to go home do homework with kids, make dinner, and get what ever house work I can done. I also have to get the kids to what ever practice or event they may have. For being a profession dominated by women it is hard to swallow that dentist have no concern as to how hard they work their employees and how they are unresponsive to the fact that we have family too. Our day does not end when we leave the office. We have to keep going! just Why not give us breaks and make sure we receive our full lunch. This would make a huge difference in our lives. I had a root canal done by an endodontist and everything went fine. I need to have a crown put on by my regular dentist. I've never had a crown done before so I'm wondering what to expect.

Does anesthethic have to be used when getting the crown? After the root canal, isn't the tooth dead to any feeling? I am wondering how long a crown procedure takes and if you need anesthetic and if there would possibly be any pain after a crown on a tooth that had a root canal done.

thanks

Also will it cost more if i need to have a head brace because my two front teeth are quite significantly protruded? Also does the cost quoted by an orthodontist include the price of the regular checks ups to have my teeth and braces cleaned and to have the brace tightened.

P.S. I have tried to get them on the NHS and although I am eligible there is a 3 year waiting list which I am not prepared to wait for!
Furthermore is it possibly to have braces fitted in another country where dental fees are cheaper and then have regular check ups with an orthodontist over here or do you have to carry on having treatment with the same dentist that fitted the brace!

Could anyone help? i had a permanent brace for about 2 years and wore a retainer afterwards for some time. that was 2 years ago. I am not sure but I think there is a slight movement in my front teeth and would like to know if by putting my retainer that I had after my brace back on every night would harm my teeth and make them worst or help them get back into perfect shape.

Thanks
