Yes. An emotional or physical stress, such as dental work, can bring on a canker sore.

I refuse to have any dentist touch my wisdom teeth, they are there for a reason. So that when I am toothless, I will still have 4 more LOL In any case, that is just an opinion. It sounds like you probably have a swollen wound most likely. Vicodin will help you keep the pain off but it will not help with the swell. It is swollen because somehow it has gotten some bacteria or got exposed. The dentist will usually put something to lower the swelling and then most likely some penicillin or similar medicine. If it is very bad and you have insurance, you might want to visit the hospital to see if they can inject you for the swelling or bacteria. Good Luck!

Yes, sores can develop on the inside of your mouth when wisdom teeth are removed. Also, you can get swollen face, and bruises on your neck. It should go away but if you are still having problems by the 7th day see the doctor.

Yes--When you have your wisdom teeth removed, the oral surgeon & the assistants use devices called "retractors". They hold your cheek tissue back & away from the teeth so the oral surgeon can get in there and remove the wisdom teeth. They can cause irritation that will go away in a few days to a week. Stay away from acidy foods--like orange juice, tomato sauce, pizza sauce--those foods will just irritate the area more. Hope this helps
