I was eating a pez and part of one of my upper molars just broke off in little pieces. So far, it doesn't hurt, but I was told I could get an infection if I don't have it fixed right away. Can I wait until Monday to have it fixed?

Or are they just trying to get more $$ from me/insurance? My old dentist took x-rays every 3-5 yrs. but it seems they are all trying to sell you on cosmetic dentistry, pulling out old fillings to do new ones, etc. Do you have this problem with yours??

I know a few people that have never or rarely had professional oral care and they're teeth look "perfect". One or two cavities, straight teeth, never a major problem with their teeth.
And then there are people like me who have suffered w/dental problems despite seeing a dentist on a regular basis.
Is it soley based on one's diet? Or do genes play a role too?

I met a friend online who had a dental lab and said he could fix my partial (4 front teeth.) which had broken, but he put too much material on it and I couldn't get them in, he took them back to file them down, and then I couldn't get hold of him, when I went there his lab was gone and my teeth too, I don't have the insurance to get new ones, and I'm supposed to be in my son's wedding soon, and no money to get any,
does anyone have any suggestions?

My son bashed one of his front teeth earlier today, and is still complaining that it hurts hours later. It didn't bleed or appear chipped. But he finds it too painful to brush.

I'm not saying that this is true, but it is a sterotype that I've encountered many times in my travels.

i had a bad experience with interactive mystique braces (white and clear braces) so just wondering what the metal ones are like, i am in my 20s tho and i guess they wouldnt look aesthetically pleasing but mayb easier to cope with.
how do ppl put up with them for so long? all the time i had mine they were a constant reminder so much so they had to come out otherwise i would have given up my job.
also do u think they would put alot of potential partners off?
i feel so in the dark about the whole thing.

My good friends teeth are rotting out of her head! She has no insurance, and very little resources. All dentists in our area want tons of money up front. There is no saving these teeth, she needs them all pulled and given a set of false teeth. I am worried because she keeps getting these horrible infections which can abscess and kill her! She is a wonderful person who is raising two children on her own and somehow doesn't qualify for ANY kind of aid! I wish I could pay for this, but that's not an option either. I was just wondering if anyone out there had some ideas of where to turn for help?
