My child (6 year old) hit her mouth at school yesterday, should I be concerned?

Her gum is a bit purple and it looks bruised on the top of her tooth, she has a little pain and I have given her motirn and tylenol. Any need to go to the dentist?

We've had quite a few children with injured mouths come in (they had lost the battle with the playground). She's probably just bruised. Keep an eye on the tooth to see about any discoloration. If it's her "baby" tooth she'll lose it anyway within the year. I would suggest the Motrin because it's an anti-inflammatory. We would suggest that to the parents.
If it's not loose you'll be fine, no need for the dentist. But of course any concerns go see just to make sure.

Is the tooth loose? If it's not then just keep an eye on it, you can give her a piece of ice or even an ice pop to put on the gum to reduce any swelling and it will help with pain. If the tooth is loose then bring her to the dentist to have it checked. Even if it's not a permanent tooth, if she looses a baby tooth too early it can cause problems.

STOP THE TYLENOL AND MOTRIN...THESE PREVENT HEALING OF BLOOD VESELS. MY DAUGHTER DID A LITTLE RAIN DANCE HIDDING UNDER/INSIDE UMBRELLA AND STACKED- HER TOOTH TURNED LIGHT BROWN IN A MATTER OF A WEEK...THEN AFTER A MONTH WENT BACK TO WHITE....
THANK GOD ON THE DAY OF THE ACCIDENT I CALLED SEVERAL DENTIST AND DECIDED TO TAKE THE LESS EVASIVE ROUTE.

MOTRIN/TYLENOL, MAKE APPT AND HAVE TOOTH EXTRACTED OR ROOT DRILLED OUT AND TOOTH FILLED WITH WHITE COMPOUND ( FOR ESTHITICS)
OR LEAVE IT AND WAIT TIL CHILD NATURALLY LOOSES TOOTH.
WE WENT WITH THE NATROPATHIC DENTIST...HE TREATED US OVER PHONE SO NO COSTLY VISIT.
