Your doctor will know the best because he has seen the tooth.
Sometimes putting people on antibiotics if the tooth is causing an infection is done so that it will be easier to get numb.
However some of the answers that were posted were not correct.
From one of the main oral surgery books by Peterson: "The perils of tooth extraction in the presence of swelling is a myth that has been passed from one generation of dentists to another." He goes on to list the studies and results that show that taking a tooth out at the time it is infected actually had less problems than waiting. "The patients who had recieved the early treatment recovered more rapidly and required subsequent incision and drainage (of an infection) less frequently than in those patients in whom the treatment was delayed. In addition, those with later extractions had a greatly increased incidence of extraoral drainage."
However, I would trust your doctor and as I said there are times when it is ok to wait, especially if the problem is not that serious and to make it easier to numb you up.

If there is an infection, which seems yes, for you were prescribed an antibiotic - the dentist needs to have this under control - why? Basically, for the extractions to be less painful and invasive. If you have an infection, the chances of freezing the areas is much less - now, I am sure you do not want that. Secondly, an infection in the mouth is dangerous to the body also (heart) and I am sure you do not want that.
You have to wait at least two weeks, because normally a prescription is a minimum of 10 days - which is common for most antibiotics. No worry - you will be fine - though like always - contact the dentist ASAP if the pain gets worse... nothing is 100% in any medicine.

They want to get the infection taken care of first so it doesn't spread. That is probably why you are waiting two weeks, to give the antibiotic a chance to take control of the infection. Most antibiotics are taken for at least 10 days.

Sounds fine. There's no point in taking them out while you have an active infection.
If you were to go ahead with it now, chances are, the infection would be trapped inside the wounds and you would be much, much worse off.
Trust your doctor (or dentist) with this!

as long as you are taking anti-biotics to clear up the infection,it will be ok to wait
The anti-biotics will make it feel better in a few days, but you still must go and have them removed, because the can cause so much pain, it is awful
