I've had trouble with insomnia for years. I tried this stuff called Melatonin and it really did work well for me. I was taking 3 mg. and I cleared this through my doctor who said that I could take 3-6 mg and that it was safe. Another doctor found that I was taking this and they said that it was not safe - in that if you keep taking it that your body won't be making it or something if you keep taking it. So is it safe, and how much is safe. I tried taking 5HTP per their suggestion and it has not worked well.
My doctor said Valerian was not safe, and I only tried it once, and I was more energized than relaxed from taking it.
My question - is what is the root cause of insomnia? I've tried all kinds of things - lavender, herbal teas, etc. lot more exercise. I get a minimum of 30 minutes exercise a day and most days I get 60 and I still don't sleep well now. I was sleeping well taking the melatonin. ideas? thanks A.M. is a great forum thanks everyone!

Okay, I have trouble with violent outbursts, anxiety and depression. I am able to function in society, but it causes me a lot of upset!

I don't trust myself with prescription medication (have a history of abusing them) but thought that I could maybe make two sets of herbal remedies (tea, tincture, capsules, whatever)... one, which I can take everyday to balence out my mood, and one which I can take when i'm feeling *really* stressed just to calm me down a bit.

What herbs combine best for these kinds of things, and which would work best for each remedy?

Thank you!

Emma

I am looking to find stones and oils that will match up with my chakras. I already found one in a big bowl of stones that seems to work with my heart chakra, it's an emerald green stone that has kinda shimmering fleks within it, I found it in a stone field at my grans farm and polished it up YEARS ago. What will help me open, cleanse and heal my other chakra points?

I'm a new drinker of green tea, mostly for it's healthy benefits.
But, like most new drinkers, I'm suffering from pretty bad stomach cramps right now :[
and I wouldn't say I have a low pain threshold.
so um, I'm just wondering if anyone knows anything to settle the pain? ://
I drank the tea hours ago, and the pain has only just come now...

I have lost over 40lbs in last eight months, I take b vitamines and try to eat lighter and heathier. I still feel like crap all the time. It was suggested by my mum that as Cognitive Behavioural Therepy had limited effect on me (got me off prozac after 10 years but still have horrendous depressive episodes) and I know what the cause of it all is (stuff from when I was a kid) maybe I should see a hypnotherapist to try and see if they can do something to "block" the negative stuff. Oh and PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME TO TRY RELIGION!! I've tried most of them and never found one I could actually believe in. I respect your views that you believe there is a God, etc. etc. so please respect the fact that I don't believe in such things.

I've read a little bit about colloidal silver and it seems like cool stuff. I've been wanting to get into taking it but then my homeopathic pharmacist said it might be a good supplement for my dog (long story, but it started with an animal homeopathic practitioner). I'll probably take it myself as well. But there are a few things I forgot to ask.

So...
* Are there any instructions for taking colloidal silver? Should it be with a meal, by itself, after a meal, before a meal? It's easiest to give it to my dog with his dinner but not that hard not to.
* Do most people take it every day, or only when you need it, or a few days on and a few days off?
* Has anyone ever used the home colloidal silver maker? Does it work?
* Anyone have any other tips or advice about colloidal silver? Any personal miracles about what this stuff can do?
