Does it need to be a Chinese remedy?
Lavender oil works wonders on scars, even very old scars. You need to use proper essential oil (not fragrence oils) so look for Lavandula angustifolia and you can apply it directly to the area, no need to dilute.
Vitamin E oil will also help.

I remember using a product from China once, somewhat same reason (scar, not from stitches), I used it as prescribed, didn't work... then I tried using it more (twice as long, or twice as much I can't recall) and the scar was gone.
Sorry I know it's a cloudy answer to say the least, but I'm telling you I used a China product, sort of a balm in a short cylindrical container, and it worked.

Vitamin C and Vitamin E. Vitamin C is the precursor to collagen. I just got through healing using a hefty amount of Vitamin C. I remember being told by an M.D. that my wife would likely require a tube the rest of her life due to some surgery on a bile duct. The internal scar would not heal. I asked her to take Vitamin C and Lysine 500-1000 milligrams repeatedly and it healed up within a few weeks. I don't believe I ever told him perhaps out of fear that he might veto it. He looked kind of shocked when he took another scan and the wound had healed. Of course God is to be credited. He does however use Vitamin C I think .

I don't think it's from China but there is a product in America called "Mederma" (I think) that's made from onion peels mostly and should help you. It's a little pricey though.

Wheatgerm oil is really good for scars. I had 8 stitches in the palm of my hand near my pinky and all you can see is a faint line.
Good luck!
