No..there is no other method for inguinal hernia in a child of the age group you have mentioned.
Inguinal hernia in a child of this age should be treated as soon as possible, as there are chances of non-reducibility and obstruction, which can result in many complications.
My advice is to get the child operated as soon as possible.

Both my sons underwent treatment by surgical methods (Mumbai and Chennai resp.) when they were between 2-3 yrs. Our concerns were the same as yours. There is no alternative and you might only waste your time.
(P.N: We normally treat all our ailments only by Kotaikal Vaidya / ayurvedic treatment from Kerala). For this one we chose the school medicine. Good luck !!!

No. But it may make you feel better to know that over 80% of hernia's are Inguinal hernias so the procedure is very very common.

Yes there is definite treatment for this hernia in homeopathy. Before you submit little child to surgeon`s knife try homeopathy as this is harmless in any case cures or does not cure.
