Okay, I have trouble with violent outbursts, anxiety and depression. I am able to function in society, but it causes me a lot of upset!

I don't trust myself with prescription medication (have a history of abusing them) but thought that I could maybe make two sets of herbal remedies (tea, tincture, capsules, whatever)... one, which I can take everyday to balence out my mood, and one which I can take when i'm feeling *really* stressed just to calm me down a bit.

What herbs combine best for these kinds of things, and which would work best for each remedy?

Thank you!

Emma

Why do want to do this all by yourself? If you don't want to go the medical route and try antidepressants, which would calm all of your symptoms including violent reactions and are are a type of medication that cannot be abused, what would really be the problem in that? Yes, tranquilizers, can be abused and are addicting, but antidepressants are not in the same class. Avoid tranquilizers like the plague, but not antidepressants. And trying to self-medicate yourself without a professional's advice and guidance is like playing russian roulette with your life. Go to a licensed naturopath or homeopath and get it done right. You seem to be guessing. I wouldn't advise mixing up concoctions without real knowledge of what you're doing. Perhaps read up on it a bit more, but I still wouldn't advise doing it all on your own. You need someone who has the expertise to foresee all the pit falls and limitations to what you're trying to achieve. Feeling good and healthy is not a game or a crap shoot. It's an art and a science and you don't just discover how to cure yourself with no prior training. Reading some health manual could lead you more off course because you don't have the education to put into perspective what you're dealing with. Please find some medical help to guide you!

Better to consult a herbalist.
