i am a 16 year old girl. since thursday i have had an extremly sore throat constantly. it stops me from sleeping and it is so painful that i can't swallow which means i have to spit (which i despise). i am not a big eater anyway but i have eaten next to nothing or drunk next to nothing since thursday. it is a saturday so can't go to the doctors as they are closed at weekends. anyone have any ideas what this could be and how serious it is? or is it nothing? also, i have started getting very nasty headaches right behind my eyes which tablets don't relieve.

thank you in advance.

ps. i dont no if this is relevent but i had my last GCSE exam on wednesday (the whole exam time was quite stressful)

Are there any potential long term adverse effects (i.e.., arterial blockage) which can result from arterial damage caused during an "angiogram"? I may have the terminology wrong--what I am calling an "angiogram" was a procedure involving a catheter being inserted into the arteries, and dye being inserted to check for blockage. One of the arteries was stretched severely during this procedure, and then this exact same area (which had no blockage whatsoever at the time of the "angiogram") subsequently became totally occluded, and caused a massive heart attack. After a stent was inserted following the heart attack, subsequent studies revealed that the patient had no blockage whatsoever, anywhere else. This caused our concern that a possible injury to this artery during the earlier procedure caused some damage to the interior of this artery, and resulted in an area which proved more prone to have subsequent blockage occur.

I am a 22 year old female, slightly overweight. I am not that physically active, but I do work out a few times a week. My resting heart rate sits around 130 bpm, and when I am in pain( had an ear infection) it went up to 146 bpm. The nurse at the hospital seen it and said I was 22 years old... and that I can handle it. Heart problems run in my family, and sometimes I get minor chest pains from over exsurtion when working out. I am going to the doctors again soon but was just looking for some information about this to ease my mind until I get in to see my physician.

I have a small frame and my weight is low, but do not suffer from any eating disorders. I've decided that I would like to start to get in shape and start building body muscle but I'm afraid that if I start a workout program I will begin to loose weight, which I can't afford to do. Are there any workouts that are designed to build muscle instead of loosing weight?

I have heard that the prime reason for a prostrate gland is to produce sperm, so if I produce very little spem, then does it mean my prostrate gland is not working properly.

I guess since may my legs have itched behing my knees into my calves and on the back on my thigh- Its about a foot up and a foot down from the back on my knee-
I would think it has something to do with the heat but even if I am not sweaty they still have a pain- its more of a skin pain than inside- It doesn't itch so much as just pain-
Does anyone know if it could be anything else than a heat thing? How can I get this to go away? Just lotion alot?

People who are not depressed almost disturb me. They seem irrational and in denial of what life is really like. It's one thing to be content with life, hell, one can even be content with life and meet all the critera for life, but those who think that's ill? I don't get it.

I have mood swings, maybe it's bipolar, maybe it's just anxiety, who knows, but even in my happiest moments, I don't think depression is so crazed.

I have a friend who has, in the past, suffered from anaphylactic (throat closing up, generalized body swelling, impaired breathing) reactions to bee stings. The doctor has recommended that she always carry an Epi-Pen, but these need to be replaced every six months, and at $50 a pop, it's not something she can afford.

Since we live in Michigan, really, the most dangerous time for her would be April through September, so she'd be pretty safe not carrying one in the winter months.

Does anyone know of a way that she can either get one free or at a very discounted price? (She has no health insurance.)

Where can she go (or who can she talk to) to ask about this?

Thanks so much.

I want to lose 20 pounds and I'm starting to exercise and eat right. I know what to eat for lunch and dinner: leafy greens, grilled chicken and fish etc, but what do I eat for breakfast?

Before I started dieting I used to eat leftovers or white bread toast and eggs. I enjoy fruit but it won't fill me up in the morning. What are somethings I can eat in the morning?

Also, should I eat and then workout or workout and then eat? How long should I wait to workout before or after I eat?
