I guess since may my legs have itched behing my knees into my calves and on the back on my thigh- Its about a foot up and a foot down from the back on my knee-
I would think it has something to do with the heat but even if I am not sweaty they still have a pain- its more of a skin pain than inside- It doesn't itch so much as just pain-
Does anyone know if it could be anything else than a heat thing? How can I get this to go away? Just lotion alot?

I have had the same reaction in the past, right behind my knees, up and down a good 4 inches. For me it is an allergic reaction from certain creams and lotions, or even laundry detergent. I know if I use self-tanner I will get this reaction for sure. Have you tried any new lotions or laundry detergnet? Cortisone cream and a Claritin for hives seems to work well for me. It relieves the symptoms in a matter of hours but can take days to go away.

I would do just that, and if lotioning down doesn't help you in some way get some relief, than I would seriously consider going to a dermatologist! If it's not the heat, and or sweating behind there, are you by chance doing alot of bending since May? If so, that could be it right there hun!! Alot of bending will irritate the knee area, so check out your routine a bit more. And see if that's not it, that your maybe doing some more of some type of chore than you used to do, that inclines more bending than your normal activities, and something else in that department. Otherwise as I said above, check into seeing a good dermatologist. Good Luck to you hun. This could just be nerves, or some type of hives from the heat, who knows, but a good skin doctor would know, that's for sure!! Smile!! Hope you get to feelin' better real soon!!

Actually it doesn't sound like a bite to me. It seems more likely that something punctured your skin either through your jeans or it was already inside your jeans when you put them on and then when your knee folded, the object was forced into you. You need to clean the area; soak a cloth in perooxide and let it sit on the wound. After about five minutes, remove the cloth and have your husband look to see if he can see any foreign object in the wound. If he cannot, or cannot remove an object he does see, you should probably consult a doctor. If you don't know how to maintain a sterile field, you should probably see a doctor rather than having your husband tend to you. It could be almost anything, wood, glass, plastic, metal. Since it is in an area that requires constant contact, it should be removed.

I have the same problem, and I went to a Dermatologist to get treated for it. The doc told me that it was because I wore jeans all the time. Your skin needs to be able to breathe, and if you never wear shorts, the skin still sweats, even if you don't feel like you are hot or sweaty. That sweat reabsorbs into the skin, and makes kind of a microscopic swampy mush out of the skin cells. This is where the itching comes from. You will also tend to scratch in your sleep, and can also scratch yourself bloody, without knowing it.

Just try wearing shorts more often (especially in the spring, summer, and early fall), and treat the area with a cornstarch-based powder at night, when you wear jeans. Make sure you also apply a good absorbable LOTION (NOT a creme. They are oil based and do not absorb moisture into the skin) on a daily basis, to repair the skin, hydrate it, and help it maintain it's natural elasticity.

Hope this helps...

Go to the ER. Don't neglect a bite from an unknown creature. It took 6 months for some kind of bite on my foot from a tropical insect to heal and several trips to a dermatologist.

Could be excema, but you need a doctor to diagnose that.

Meantime just soothe it with plenty of applications of plain cream (nothing in it, no scented stuff) and do your best not to scratch.
