I have heard that the prime reason for a prostrate gland is to produce sperm, so if I produce very little spem, then does it mean my prostrate gland is not working properly.

First ----- the prostate gland does NOT produce sperm; sperm production occurs in the testicles.

Second ------ The prostate is the male orgasm center and is often called the male "G" spot. Sperm mixes with fluid from the prostate that allows them to continue to swim and for you to have a successful ejaculation.

Third ----- I am not sure how little SEMEN you are producing; "normal" volumes vary for males. If you think you have a problem, make an appointment with your doctor.

Prostate problems can occur later in age. To answer your question ------ A smaller volume of semen does not necessarily mean you have a prostate problem.

You heard wrong...your prostate gland actually produces most of the rest of semen, an alkaline solution with clotting agent and nutrients to actually allow the sperm to survive and live long enough to fertilize the egg. If you're producing very little sperm, it is due to your testes, where the sperm are produced and housed until they are mature.

It's quite rare for a young person to have prostate trouble. It normally begins in men over 50. Do not worry. Some men produce buckets of the stuff and some very little. Either is normal.
