A friend of mine uses laxitives for weight loss and I recently read that models do this too. What are the drawbacks to this type of weight-loss? I only need to lose about 5 lbs, maybe 10 lbs max. I exercise but I have IR (insulin resistance) so it is somewhat harder to lose weight.

I heard that that feeling like you have a good relationship with your counselor actually is more effective than their actual technique. My new question is, do you guys think people are more comfortable to open up online because they aren't face-to-face?

it really bugs me when someone has the hiccups and won't do anything to "cure" them. or at least get up and move away.

a continious sneezer - that bugs me too! is it just me or am i throughly annoyed by rude people and their manners? i realize the sneezer can't do much .. but it's the sound that is similar to the fingernails on the chalk board.

Please give me an educated answer.

This year, ive gone to the doctor to get this checked out over ten times. Ive have about 5 xrays, and 4 sonograms. And the doctor keeps thinking im faking it, but im not! My abdominal hurts really bad when i walk. it comes and go and its a sharp pain, its about right on top of my hip bone.it mostly happens on the right, but rarely it happens on the left too. i just notice it when i walk. When i had my pelvic sonogram, they said it was fibroid tumors, and they sent me to the OBGYN, and i got a sonogram there, and they said i didn't have any and that it must of disapeared or i never had any. Well It still hurts, and its drving me insane, what do you think it possibly be, and what should i do?

Whenever I have my period, I get pain in the front of my thighs, almost like it's a pain in my veins. It comes and goes during the heaviest days of my period and every once in a while on days when I don't have it, though not as painful. I'm in my 40's and this just began a couple of years ago. Thanks!

Two weeks ago I came home and found my cat lying in a pool of vomit, smelling strangely like what was coming out of the bathroom pipes. I had to have him euthanized three days later. I have gotten headaches, muscle aches, dry mouth and a rapid heartbeat. The managers got rid of the smell and now claim that nothing was their fault; however, I am still getting the above symptoms...what could it be? There are no methane or carbon monoxide traces. Any help would be very much appreciated.

no binge eating, no skipping meals, and no throwing up though...

but the person:
-eats less carbs, more protein
-after dance class, still exercises to sweat more (or vise versa)
-on diet pills
-orders salad while friends enjoy pork, beef, etc. when dining out
-don't like to eat with someone so that she can eat less and no one to notice
-undergoes non-surgical body contouring treatment
-had a history of throwing up when she was younger but lasted just a max of 2 months

if YES to 4 of these, is the person having an eating disorder?

An ethical question: If someone really cannot see any enjoyment in life, and every waking moment is hell for them, the prospect of a lifetime of it just not something a person can face - is suicide justifiable?
Although its incredibly selfish on the one hand, isnt it also selfish to force someone to live a life of misery to avoid our own pain?

My eyes have been hurting since 9 this morning. At first, it was just an irritation--but as the day progressed so did the irritation and then pain. I took out my contacts, flushed out my eyes, and put so much eye dropper stuff in them, but they're still hurting. Does anyone have any idea why? And possibly, how to stop the pain?
