Ritalin rocks! Wish I had know about it when I was in high school and college. Try very small amounts once or twice daily to offset chronic distraction. Get a decent doc to prescribe it:someone who understands psycotheriputic drugs and their effects. Basically, in small amounts Ritalin usually helps focus by increasing production of brain transmitter chemicals like dopamine.
Worst side effect I have had was a bit of tension around the top of the head like a very mild headache when I took 20Mg's. However, dosing is something to workout with a doc and varies.

Also see the chapter on pycnogenol in Jean Carper's Miracle Cures, and the section on ADD in Magnet Therapy by Lawrence and Rosch.
Good luck!

Get off the artificial food dyes and corn syrup in foods. Look at this study, and you'll understand the importance of why I say this. It turned my daughter's life around completely! (she was suspected of having a form of autism!)
