dreams are unusual, in past dreams it usually means there is something left to deal with or to be forgiven. there may be someone in the dream that may have not been aware of the situation and needs to know, or that you may be subconsciously trying to stop a repeated behaviour, write down the parts of the dream you remember and focus on the pattern it makes. ask someone close to you who will know your history without judgment... good luck i have done this and now have alot more understanding to my brutle past as a child.

Dreams are the inconscious side of the person. These are the things that we keep on thinking about BUT consciously you are trying NOT to. I think you can't get over with your childhood bad memories because it still at the unconscious side of you. Also it may be that you have something in your past that you have not settled yet or events that you have not accepted. It happens to me often when I dream of something I have not thought of BUT they happen in one or two weeks. In that case, mine is more of a premonition. But with you, since it is the past, you have to deal whatever you have in your childhood days.God bless

Maybe your body is telling you it's time to work something out that needs to be dispelled.
Try writing downthe dreams first thing when you wake up but then don't read them until a month later. See if they are still pertinent to you then and if they are then go to a therapist and discuss.

you could have been thinking of an incident that happened in your childhood and the thoughts remained in your subconscience, what we think about during the day will be stored, but if you had an unpleasant childhood, I am sure the thoughts would always be lurking in the back of your mind.
I would not worry about it.

maybe it's to remind you of how far you have come and how your life has improved.
