Thanks, all. I'm having the surgery tomorrow and I'm really nervous.

It would depend on the how complicated the surgery is as well as how good the surgeon is.... I had a really bad case of wisdom teeth (impacted) that is ones that had grown horizontally into my jaw bone. My jaw had to be ground down to expose the tooth before it was literally yanked out (under an anesthetic of course). But the surgeon does a good job you should be well on the road to recovery within 24 hours.

when getting your wisdom teeth pulled, you are prone to experience pain and swelling. There might be some bleeding. While your mouth mends, you must be mindful so as not to oust the blood coagulation or damage your healing gums. You should not use solid things as food, coffee, alcohol, hot things or soda refreshments in the initial couple of days taking after your treatment. You shouldn’t brush your teeth for the primary day of procedure. According to the oral specialist Dr. Joseph Arzadon, wisdom teeth recovery time is three to four days, despite the fact that it can take one week. This recovery time depends a great deal on how seriously the wisdom teeth were impacted and how they were emitting.

My jaw was sore for a long time but... my tooth broke during the extraction... Hope yours goes well... Do the salt rinse like they tell you to. It helps and don't smoke or drink through a straw. Ice on your face after surgery too (if they tell u to) Good luck :)

I would say that generally it's just a few days. But if your wisdom teeth are impacted I think that it takes a little longer to recover.

hi, lets see how many teeth are you having out. Most likely 2 - 3 days at most. You'll get pain killers. Yuck. Salt water works and stick with it. Good Luck

I guess it really depends on the person. For me, it took 3 days. I have seen people who recover right away, and I've seen others that take a week.
