My husband and I are trying to decide if I ought to go to a doctor for my depression (where I'll likely get prescribed some anti-depressants). I've been depressed off and on for a few years, but it amplified when I got married 6 months ago. Now it's a constant that might have caused my problems with insomnia. I have gone to the doctor for insomnia, and I didn't respond well to the Ambien or to over-the-counter sleeping pills. Honestly, I'm afraid of taking more drugs. I want to believe my depression can go away without meds. However, both my sisters have been on anti-depressants. One suggests not to do it. The other insists I need them. I have been getting some counseling from my pastor. Any thoughts from your own experiences?

We (my son and I) just came back from the eye doctor and he has eye floaters. I need more information.

What are they?
Where do they come from?
What causes them?
What gets rid of them?
Are they dangerous?
How did they get there?
Are they heredity?
What next?

Any help will greatly be appreciated!

I am in a relationship with someone who has PTSD. We have known each other for awhile, but have just started getting really close. I know that he has PTSD. What can I do to reassure him about our relationship and to make him feel secure with me? I care very much for him. His disorder was caused by a bad relationship and a couple of other incidents.

In WW1, William Rivers treated officers who would today be diagnosed with PTSD, knowing that when they became well enough, they would be returned to the wartime conditions that made them unwell. Was he right to treat them?

I eat a lot, lots of protiens, good carbs, fruit , veggies, I eat more then 3 meals a day and have snacks every two hours. I am small person in stature and my bones are small, and but I need more food then some of my guy friends that are 6'4 and 200 + lbs, if I don't eat enough, I will get shakey and light headed. I don't even go to the gym, and still I my body needs large amounts of food. I drink protien drinks as well. My father has this same problem, he is also not a big person who doesn't weigh that much.

I have hepatitis c virus, genotype 1a. I just went through my year of treatment and have had a negative pcr since my first test at week twelve. I had a viral load over 2 million before treatment.
I know that with genotype 1a I have only a 40% chance of staying negative. I go for my three month after treatment pcr in two weeks. I feel very apprehensive about that test.
Has anyone here had hcv, genotype 1a and gone through treatment and achieved a sustained viral response after stopping treatment?

My husband & I have been together for 5 years, he is my one and only partner. We have an active healthy sexlife that includes oral. When we were first dating I swallowed simply because it didn't bother me & easy clean up but I started noticing that within a few hours, I would have intense stomach cramps & diarrhea. At first I thought this was coincidence since it didn't happen every time, & then I thought it was only when I had an empty stomach as it would frequently happen after first thing in the morning oral. But we disproved that, then we thought it had to be subconscious, but I have seen a therapist & I don’t have any sexual hang ups or abuse. My husband is hygienic, we eat right mostly, & I am healthy (just had a physical.) It has gotten to the point where we can no longer have spontaneous oral unless we know I have something to spit in. I guess my questions are: does anyone else have this problem? Has anyone talked to a doctor about it? Does anyone know what causes this?

I can eat the right things for my body, but I am constantly hungry! My stomach will hurt and growl even a half hour after I've eaten something good for me. I tried the Atkins diet and lost my appetite completely (that's not good either). Even when I eat mostly protein, I still am hungry all the time. I snack almost every hour to be full and my stomach still thinks it's empty. I have had my thyroid checked and it's not that. Even when I drink water, I am still hungry. Any ideas?
