Why are there products that can do this for pets but none for humans?

scraping and polishing, with an abrasive, the tooth surface is not dissolving tartar. I am interested in learning if there is a liquid that dissolves tarter and not the tooth too. As is the asker.

The Sonicare toothbrush works well. So do regular cleanings at the dentist.
