That he shouldn't be self conscious - no one cares about him or what he does anyway. Really - not to sound evil, but in the scheme of things, all that really matters to you is yourself, so why worry, nobody will even remember whatever it is that makes him self conscious.

Hmm..I'm wondering why he would be so self concious. Anyway, calm him down, take him out to a club or something. Try to make him feel like everything's okay no one cares..

i used to be self conscious shy and quiet. i joined the volleyball team and made some cool friends and now im not afraid to do anthing
tell him to mix up his routine and try somethin new

Actually there is not much you can do other than supporting him and being there to listen. You friend will have to deal with his emotions in his own time and in his own way. Being there is your greatest help for your friend.
