I'm working on wedding invitations and I was just wondering if Bazzill Basics cardstock would be in an appropriate weight. The website doesn't specify. Here's a link to the product I'm looking at: http://store.scrapbook.com/bb-5-522.html . Thanks for any info you can provide!

Hello crafters and sewers...what have you made from tablecloths? The holiday ones are out and I'd like to do some covers for my chairs.

To those who say it is cheaper to buy the fabric....well not in all cases. You have to drive to JoAnn Fabrics, gas is now $3.25 here...and all of your edges are unfinished which means running the serger or overlock stitch. Dollar General is walking distance to my house and they have beautiful damask tablecloths 120" x 90" for $7.00. I bought one that had scalloped eyelet edges and made my kitchen curtains out of them. I can't do that edging on my machine!

I'm actually thinking of making a skirt with some of the holiday tablecloths.

I'm making my own wedding invitations and need to find a way to stick organza type ribbon to card. Obviously normal glue like pritt stick will come through the ribbon and make it sticky, are there any ways to do it without making all the ribbon sticky? Would glue dots work, or some sort of spray glue? Any suggestions much appreciated! :-)

My aunt wants to start selling homemade crafts and mugs with pictures of scenes from old movies. I'm concerned that this may backfire with copyright laws. Anyone know if there are any loop holes or problems? Please help.

I have a few days of nothing to do, so I thought I would try one of these two crafts. Any idea if one is easier to learn on my own than the other? Maybe you have a different idea? I always wanted to learn to sew, but there will not be a machine for me to practice on.

Thanks,

this is the artist I'm talking about. But I would like to know how to at least connect the limbs and head to the cloth or tutorials on how to make it if possible.

I need to label the back of a hand made quilt and my fabric marking pen is dry, no time to buy a replacement. Will a sharpie work as well or will that fade more with repeated washings?

I bought a used sewing/embroidery machine with a one-year serivce. I just ran it in today for the 3rd time as it keeps bunching up (way too much bobbin thread) and stops during the design, most often ruining the piece. I've been using size 40 (regular) sewing thread. The man at the shop said I specifically need to use 'embroidery thread'. But, he also convinced me to buy 'bobbin thread' prior to this (at $8.00 a spool!); I had never heard of 'bobbin thread' before and felt he took me on that one. Do I need to buy threads that are specifically for machine embroidery?

I saw folks refurbishing old iron stoves by sandblasting the rust off, painting them and then putting them back into use. I'd like to get the rust off a few antique irons and other items but wonder if they had value, if that would reduce any sale value.

I'm just starting to sew using knit materials and wondering if someone can share some tips with me. The materials seem to get punched down in between my feed dogs, especially when just starting a seam. Help!

Apart from Ebay!

Some lovely stuff on Ebay but usually all sold in colour lots. I want a good mix to get me started with jewellery making before investing in big lots of single colours!

So far I write poetry, scrapbook, collect stickers and decorate diaries. I also enjoy taking fun pics.

What are some fun but different other hobbies I can do?
