Or did you just think it was gross to bite into a creatures muscles, veins and tendons? I've known folks who went that route for both reasons, and so I am curious which is the most common.

I was vegan and diagnosed with a severe allergy to nuts and beans. Including soy. I ended up in the hospital 3 times before we figured out what was wrong. My doctor told me I needed to change my diet- obviously- the hospitals nice and all but...Anyways- I started eating free range eggs for protein. I am concerned about the choloesterol. Does anyone know where the protein is and where the cholesteral is? I have heard that the chol. is in the yolk and the protein is in the white- that just seems too easy.

Also, does anyone know of any strange places to find protein? I found a bread for atkins people (which I feel a little weird buying).

Remember- N
No soy= no tofu, veggie burgers, crumbles
No Beans= no hummus, bean dip, veggie chili...

Once I bring nice juicy tomatoes indoors, they sometimes seem to turn very firm and hard almost overnight. I have tried a sunny windowsill, in the fridge, etc.
What makes them develop such a hard thick skin so fast?

I just don't get it. Why do people feel the need to post insulting comments for vegetarian/vegan questions? Why can't they just let vegans talk to other vegans without butting their heads in where they are not welcome? If you have something to say that's relevant that's one thing, but just to make snide comments...?

Well I've been a veggeterian since 6th grade and I'm now going into 11th. I have been substituting hamburgers with these things called Bocca Burgers. They say they are meat free on the box. Is it true that they are meat free? I want to know cause if they aren't i am going to stop eating them.

I was not raised as a vegetarian, yet as the years have gone by (I'm 25 now) I've realized I don't like red meat. I do enjoy eating chicken and fish/shellfish but the idea that these are killed so we can eat them saddens me a lot. I've been thinking of becoming a vegetarian, and I would definitely keep consuming milk and cheese but I was wondering do these foods provide enough protein? I know there are proteins in other foods too apart from meat... just wanted to know from other vegetarians if they have ever had problems with their protein intake. Thanks.

I'd like to be able quickly to put together a vegetarian (lacto-ovo) picnic that would be good for my husband and me and our two year old. Thanks.

Last week, I decided I wanted to become a vegetarian and so far I have been doing well. I haven't eaten any chicken, beef, pork, or seafood. But what should I eat to help keep my protein level where it should be? I'm not a vegan, so don't tell me I cant eat eggs or drink milk!
