It's my boyfriend's birthday soon and I want to take him out to a very nice Japanese restaurant. I bought him a samurai style outfit, and had a dress sent overseas for myself, so obviously I'd like the restaurant to be a little more than a sit down and help yourself kind of place. I'm hoping for something as authentic as possible.

I am looking for recommendations for hot salsa. No, no, hotter than what you're thinking. I have a high tolerance for spice and everything in the grocery store just tastes no hotter than ketchup. I want something really hot. But, I tried some Dave's Insanity Salsa and whoa, it burned my tongue off. So we're not looking for the highest end of the spectrum. Like Pace I don't want something made in New Jersey, I want something authentic. I suspect there is a circle of small manufacturers that sell to serious connoiseurs and not to the mass market, and I suspect something "hot" from this market would work.

So here are the requirements:

1) It has to be significantly hotter than the average person would be willing to tolerate
2) It can't be sold in a mainstream grocery store
3) It can't be as hot as Dave's Insanity Salsa or otherwise marketed as hotter than anything else
4) It has to taste good, not just be hot; preferably it should be plain, no fancy flavors or twists

I like sushi. It feels great to try something new. Especially something that originated hundreds of years ago thousands of miles away, (from where I am anyway).

Today i reached a harsh reality, some of kant's ( i think ) points rang true to my innerself. I had some meatless chicken. No i'm obviously not a vegetarian but this meatless chicken salad was euphoric in nature. and i swore that it was chicken in the salad, my taste buds were compleately fooled. have you ever had an experience like this?

I don't eat dogs, but why are people so offended by that concept? Do the dogs taste bad? Why does the same thing go for eating things like snakes?

I am looking for a recipe for Jamaican beef patties similar to the ones made at Randy's in Toronto.?
Is anyone familiar with this restaurant? They make the best beef patties. Since I moved to the USA, I have yet to find a Jamaican beef patty that I like. So, I decided to try making them myself. If you have a delicious beef patty recipe, please share.
