What is "Haitian" food? Is it more/less spicy than Indian food? I know what Indian food tastes like, but have no idea about Haitian. Maybe his palate is not ready for it, yet. You may have to introduce one thing at a time. Cook the Indian food with a Haitian side dish. I'm sure he'll get used to the Haitian flavors soon enough and then maybe you can cook an entire meal of your own home's food.

may be you could try a fusion food, which is so popular in india also. work out receipes, which would combine both, indian and haitian, use your imagination, baby, rather than feeling sad! the best method is to involve himalso in your cooking, whenever possible, for dinners, or weekend lunches, and skillfully creating interest in his mind about your type of food. you could try variations, one indian curry, with your type of rice, if the main course is indian, then sweet dish can be haitian, some thing like that. you have to be patient and wait, till he develops a taste for the food which you like. actually, food is not so important, as the atmosphere which is there, at lunch or dinner-time. if he is working, and you are a house-wife, you can always make a snack or two, for yourself, for teatime etc. are there any good rest.s sserving haitian food, around? both of you go there some time, so may be their culinery skills might help, to create a liking?
you must improve your skills also, and as i said, experiment in fusions, like we in india have invented chinese bhel, a mixture combining sprouts, and all other spicy things, with noodles?

It could be that you're trying too hard...or simply don't know how to cook...I'm Haitian, and believe me, 95% of people who've had food from the Caribbean would agree that Haitian dishes are at the top of the list. Or maybe you just need to tell hubby habebie to check him self & have him start cooking his own meals.

He sounds very intolerant. I happen to like Indian food a lot but I have also had many different and delicious dishes from the Caribbean. I've even been to Haiti twice and had a good time on both visits. You need to tell him to lighten up or you'll make a voodoo doll in his image and start sticking pins in it. :)

Tell him to grow up and don't be such a control freak.
Tell him that YOU enjoy the foods of the world. If he cannot do that, he should go back to India where he can eat nothing but curry for the rest of his sad life.

Ethnic cuisine of ALL nationalities is excellent. To NOT try them and enjoy them is a shame.

my hubby is from india and i am from mauritius. and we get along really good. the secret is to be open-minded abt everything. we both have different tastes in food but we try to share and find a neutral ground. i think ur hubby is imposing on you, which is bad. he shd understand that ur a person with feelings, tastes, etc etc etc... i am sorry but he seems a bit to be the typical indian man who wants things to be done his way. dont try to be super flexible, it will hurt you in the long run. u r who u r. u have ur own tastes and he has to accept that....i hope u did not get offended at what i said...talk to him, keep on trying, dont give up...

You should make your food whenever you want and tell him if he doesn't like it that he has two options 1- don't eat and/or 2- cook his own food.
He sounds a bit selfish.
