Other than tandoori chicken, what are some other dishes that lend themselves to this spice blend? Would it be suitable for winter squash and other vegetarian dishes?

lately I've been making all kinds of dishes from all over the world. I love cooking w/ coconut milk, making curries (green w/ prawns), and all sorts of breads.

What is your favorite dish, what region is it from?

Include recipe if you want, I might make =)(

In Mexican restaurants, if you are nice to the waiters and speak to them in Spanissh, they don't spit in your food. But is it true that in French restaurants, no matter how pleasnat you are or how well you speak their language, they will spit in you food anyway?

Every recipe I have seen for chinese steamed dumpling dough is soooo complicated. I know it has got to be easy when they make it in the restaurants.

The chinese restaurant we go to used to make them from scratch...really thick and doughy dumplings, but now they sell those crappy pork gyozas that come 50 to a bag in the freezer section. Yech. I will have to make them myself...(with your help, of course)

I particularly like vindaloo curry, mulligatawny, and paneer naan. But I live in an out-of-the-way place and can't go to Indian restaurants very often. Where can I find good recpies for this sort of food?

Obviously, if you have links for good recipes that would be ideal. I especially prefer recipes that have ingredients you can get at a good-quality grocery story.

This is a question for British or Irish ex-pats living in the States.
Wanted to try traditional beans on toast, but I don't know what kind of beans to get, or where to find them in the States?
Also, how do you make beans on toast? Do you butter the toast? Do you use white bread or wheat?
