i just started working as a server at a restaurant that sells korean food
and has a sushi bar. from what i was told, everytime i sell sushi, i
must give 10% of the sushi bill to the itamae.

for example, if i had a lot of sushi orders, and it came to $100, i
would give $10 to the itamae. but what if the customer tipped me 15% on a $100 bill consisting of sushi items?
that comes to $15. that means i would have $5 for myself, but the itamae would
have $10.

is that normal etiquette?

is that how other sushi places do this?

My husband refuses to eat chinese food. He thinks he will get 'sea gull' meat or something ridiculous. I am a vegetarian, so I only order veggies meals, and he won't even try that. I even tried white rice and steamed veggies, you can SEE that there are no rodents or anything cooked up in it. How can I help him overcome this issue and go out to dinner with me. (I am a vegetairan and have a gluten sensitivity, so it kind of hard for me to eat out).

I'm looking for the name of a French dish that is made with raw ground beef. It has Tabasco sauce and other spices in it. Again, it is ground beef eaten raw.
And if you know the name, do you have the recipe that you could give me, pleeeze?

It's almost like sweet tea, with maybe tapioca pearls or little square chewy things in it? Haha. I'd love to make it, but can't remember what it's called.

I've had several lamb bakaras from my local indian restaurant and loved them. Unfortunatly, the place in question is quite pricey and I can't afford to go there very often. Would anybody have a bakara recipe? I've hunted on the internet, and all I find is lists of restaurants that serve it and no recipes.

I'm now in Northern VA where there are TONS of ethnic food stores. One I went to last night had a lot of Arabic writing and I only saw 1 white guy come in, the rest were Indian or Middle Eastern. I got a lot of stuff and paid in cash. Is there anything I should avoid doing in a store like this?
