Lots of people, not just the French do.

I've eaten them here in New Zealand, other side of the world!

They need to be certain types - some are poisonous, like so many other things - and are cooked with heaps of garlic (yummy!!). There are special 'tongs' to hold the shell and you dig them out with a little sort of "cocktail fork".

"Bon appetit!"

"Frogs' legs" - why the English call French "Froggies" - are not bad, either. But I'd prefer someting else, if given a choice.

Yes they do, but that's because snails are the only thing they can catch. The french are not the quickest people on the planet

They do indeed (Escargot), and I'm sure they aren't the only culture that does. It is only particular snails that can be eaten - as usual Wikipedia comes up trumps - so have a look at this link on Escargot:

Escargots are a famous French delicacy and are very nutritious too. They are usually served in garlic butter with herbs in the shell a la cuisine traditionelle YUMMY! Enjoy!!!

Yes they do. They are quite delicious.

Whenever I'm in France I eat them, usually for a starter, served in a garlic butter which you then mop up with loads of fresh bread. A good glass of crisp cold white wine (a Chablis perhaps) Delicious!

Dont knock it til you have tried it, the flavour and texture is delicious!

Yes they do (escargot - nice with garlic apparently)

Even worse, my Japanese girlfriend eats raw Octopus, Jelly fish, fish and beef. She also cracks open eggs and drinks them straight from the shell. In fact most things she prefers raw. Yuck!
