Vindaloo is a type of curry, it relates to how hot the curry is, there is Vidaloo Curry, Madras Curry, Red Curry, etc.

Vindaloo is a curry, like sauerbraten is a stew!!! Pardon my irony!

Both V and S are meat stews, in which the meat has been pickled in vinegar before the cooking process. The vinegaring can be brief (a couple of hours) or long (days) depending on your goal.

Vindaloos like all curries are a bit hot, but the intensity can range form mild to fiery.

vindaloo is a dish from Goa whereas curry is just a generic term for any dish with a curry based sauce
