My family and I like a lot of spicy food, thai curry, nigerian stew, nigerian soup, jalfrezi etc.

I would like to cook something new for a change. My problem is i dont know what to cook other than the curries, stews etc. I think if i must cook curries, at leat maybe i could try a different curry than the ones I have mentioned.

Can anyone recommend anything?

The other, less important thing is that it would be nice to get away from rice cos we eat that too much (however my husband and daughter dont really like potatoes)

I am thinking moroccan - i have never tried a morroccan recipe. Or caribbean. Any suggestions?

Tall order i know!!

I need a recipe on how to make AWESOME black beans. My mom is Puerto Rican and I only grew up learning how to make red beans. My dad is Cuban, but he just threw a bunch of junk in his. I remember his cousin used to make awsome black beans. I am now married to a cuban man who LOVES his black beans, but I have to go out and buy them. I have a can of Goya black beans. Can anyone help me work with this? I also remember my dad's cousin putting cumin (comino) into her beans, but I am allergic ( love it, but just the smell gives me asthma)! Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

Looking to learn some Asian dishes. Would like to start out with some simple ones that would be good for a kid who doesn't like a whole lot of vegetables.

I think that many people misunderstand what it is like.
It would be good to
straighten it all out... I would like it anyway!

Thank you very much

I love food and its variation around the world, quite like a spot of mexican and some italian foods and british basic foods. Although I do hope british food continues to improve, evolve and revive itself (drawing on forgotten classics) because it is true what they say about some of it.

What is the best prepared pasta sauce available in US supermarkets? One that even someone who grew up in an Italian family could admit to liking? Anybody?

When you buy a meal from an Indian takeaway such as a chicken Dansak or Jalfrezi or Pathia, they always have a certain taste, which is delicious and can't get enough of, but when you buy them from a supermarket they always seem to be lacking a certain taste and you usually end up disapointed. What is this taste which is missing?
