For those who use a percolator for their coffee....can you recommend a good electric one to me? I have an antique enamelware percolator, but would also like an electric.

Also, can you boil water separately in a kettle and pour it over the grounds in the top of the percolator instead of boiling the water in the percolator?

I don't want anything creamy or fattening. Are there any spices that would taste good that might kick it up a little bit.

I am proud of my choice to be vegan and support animal rights, but there are times when I just get really ticked off when people joke about it or even try to defend animal cruelty as if its ok. My dad is one of them and most of my family makes joke about meat and animals. I usually just ignore it, but sometimes they try to get me involved in their jokes and it becomes tiring trying to constantly explain to family + friends about why i make the choices to eat and buy differently.

while i wish everyone were not so ignorant to this kind of stuff, it seems like almost all non-vegetarians are disrespectful and don't understand! what is ur experience with this, because i know most veg people have to deal with this, and how do you do so. thanks

Its shape is just like an apple and its skin is off white. When I cut it open it is completely white inside, and its consistency is more like a pear than an apple. The taste is like nothing I have tasted before! It is awesome in my opinion!!

Please help me find the name of this fruit so I can know more about it.

Ok..half of the recipes I can find say cover the turkey first with foil, then take it off to brown it an hour or two before it's done. The other half say to leave it uncovered at first, then cover the turkey further into the cooking process. Which way is better?

My family and I will be getting together with our extended family ( a total of 17 people, we eat like 30) and we will have the usual fare, turkey, potatoes, gravy and the like.

But with us 1 turkey isn't enough, so recently we have been trying to do a new method of cooking the secondary "reserve" turkey.

We have already deep fried, and grilled. I was wondering if any one had any other suggestions. They can't be too tough because the second turkey is the male project ( along with making a tower of miller cans and watching the packer game). I cook in a restaurant right now so I have some skill.

Some things I thought of were BBQ turkey, or jerk turkey (like jerk chicken.

I was hoping you all out there could give me some tried and tested turkey cooking Ideas. Thanks.
