It's not too good to do 'you know what' right after you ate, so really, it shouldn't be anything than what you can eat in 2-3 bites.
Now... depending on how hungry he is, you can make some really cute tasters at candlelight that's going to catch the eye and not overwhelm the stomach. Greens and fruity stuff are easiest to digest. Think fruits and bubbly, champagne and strawberries. If he is like me, if I am hungry I want something salty, then cheese treats and champagne... Stuff you can load on a cracker, or here's the best idea, make some spoon tasters. Load as much as you want onto a nice spoon, and serve it as spoon tasters. Put a nice bow on each spoon, and good luck, sky is your limit.
I'll give you some ideas for spoon tasters.
I'd make my own sushi with some rice and avocado, one small slice cherry tomato, and a small leaf of parsley, some crab meat/ or not.. depending on what you want-.. making it look good.
you can make a light pudding and make a few tasters, decorating it with slices of fruit. and mint leaves.
You can make some tasters with yogurt and granola, cranberry raisins, nuts... etc....
And for your 'you know what' later, toasted pumpkin seeds on a spoon with mashed potatoes and a piece of shrimp, or calamari, or grilled chicken breast, or whatever your taste - pumpkin seeds are known to work for the guy (lasting longer)... and make sure you indulge in a bite of halvah, or any sesame seeds product, it enhances your sexual desire...
Have a fine night.

I'm thinking more of a noshing sort of dining, perhaps a few hot appetizers (besides you!) or foods that can be enjoyed at room temperature:
1. Hot Artichoke and Crab dip with chips or baguette slices
2. Antipasti platter with sopressata, salami, provolone, marinated artichoke hearts and mushrooms
3. Lil smokies or cheddarwurst wrapped in crescent roll dough and served warm with mustard or bbq sauce
4. Spaghetti (hot or room temperature)
5. Beef barley soup with parmesan crackers
6. Prawns with cocktail sauce
7. King Crab legs with drawn butter
8. Black forest ham and havarti grilled sandwiches with tomato soup.

You could have some soup simmering in a slow cooker - chicken, some veggies, noodles. That way if the flight is delayed his dinner isn't going to be over cooked or cold.

What about a grilled cheese sandwich?
Get his fav cheese and his fav bread and if he really loves ham, or turkey throw it in too, just whatever he likes. Make it special by having some candle lights or something.
Hope my idea helps you.

if it was me i'd like grilled salmon and steamed vegetables(organic, of course!!!). it's light enough and the cooking time(like 20 mins from start to finish including clear-up) means u can get it right around possible plane-delays etc... i used to do this for my gal who works around the world and is often away....i used to clean the house and put flowers in every room and pick her up from the airport too!
and no, i'm not gay, just pretty and sweet
=P

A nice omelet filled with chopped ham and cheese and a green salad make a light fare, together with a glass of dry white wine.

Try making a pizza.....since you'll be cooking at home, you can make it as light as you want (with minimal cheese, choose the toppings, veggies, peperoni)....or you can make a heavier pizza and layer on those toppings!

If he's going to bed - it's best you serve him something light - like ceral and toast - no coffee.
Make him a robust meal for lunch the next day.
