Can I eat it, or should I just scrape the brown part off and then eat it? Will the brown part taste bad?

Thanks.

It browns naturally when it's exposed to oxygen. I usually cut it off 'cause it looks unappetizing, but it won't hurt you.
If it's gone black, it's too late and you should throw it out.

You can still eat it, it may taste funny but shouldn't hurt you. Also, if you want your guacamole to stay fresh longer, put the seed from the avocado in the guacamole.

It's ok to eat but doesn't look pretty.
I think you can slow down the browning by rubbing some lemon juice on it. Then cover with plastic wrap so that it lays completely on the avocado so air doesn't get to it.

Won't kill you, but it has been oxidized from exposure to oxygen. It's like the rust of the plant world.
Rub the face of an avocado, or any other fruit like an apple (yes an avocado is a fruit - it has a seed) after slicing with with a lemon and it will keep it from oxidizing as quickly.

That is caused by oxidation. It won't hurt you either way, but tastes best if you scrape the brown off.

Of course it is still good..
you cut it up just hours ago.
JUST discolored.
Had you diped it in some Flavor Fresh that would have taken hours. (Fruit Fresh or Lemon juice)
Don't let food freaks or purists fool you.
Black Bannanas are just ripe Yellow still raw.
HA!
Happy Holidays ..♥
