I just cooked ribs. It's my habbit to slow cook them in the overn and then finsh them with a bbq sauce mixed with beer and brown sugar. My mistake was in thinking I had bbq sauce in the pantry. Anyone know a simple sauce I can put together. I have most things that would go into. I would rather have a tried and true though than one I just think up on the spur of the moment.

Thanks

I only eat seafood from January to June and poultry from July to December. I also eat beef in February and May, pork in March and August, veal in April and September and venison in October and November. The rest of the time I am a strict vegetarian.

I make a great spaghetti sauce from scratch and prefer to serve seperate from the noodles & meatballs allowing guest to add what amount they want. I've gone to other places/homes that combine all and serve it that way. Do you have a preference how its served? thanks.

Ok, our family is REALLY boring when it comes to food, and I always do the starter, which nearly always ends up being prawn cocktail (oh yay) or a soup I make.
So, this year, I thought i'd do something a bit .... different!!
So, I was thinking along the lines of...
seared whole prawns on a watercress salad with sweet chilli dressing..?

That was as far as I got before thinking of food made me hungry and had to go and get something to eat...
So, I need suggestions for a seafoody starter (prawns, crab, shrimp, oyster etc etc) but no garlic, because it is a very English-food-orientated family.
And prefereably something cold, that can be part prepared on the 24th December.
Thanks

My uncle and aunt's one year anniversary is coming up. They're having a cookout to celebrate. The thing is, it isn't your average cookout...it's a bit fancier. There won't be hot dogs and potato chips or anything like that.

So, I'm up for suggestions. I already have planned two desserts that I'm taking (this chocolate dessert thing and key lime tarts). Now I need some sort of side or something. Thanks!

Anyone know what kind of mint generally gets used in mojitos? What about Mint Juleps? The recipes generally only say "mint" but you can't just get mint...there are all different kinds.

My company has been asked to do the catering for a reception but the family wants some traditional Vietnamese Food... I think it would nice to include some American/Vietnamese infused dishes. This will be a serve yourself / buffet type deal... I have some recipies, but would like some input from people that actually eat this type of food... Thanks!
