Kitkan is right, Abe Lincoln did use to ask this question and many people did answer 5, even though the answer is 4. Just because you call he tail a leg, doesn't make it one.

Just like if you call a fish or a chicken a plant it doesn't become one. And that is the reason it is in V&V.

If someone calls a tail a leg, we all should agree that the person is stupid and ignore everything else that they have to say.

Just like the persistent "pollo/fishitarians"

Four. You can call the tail anything you like, but it's still a tail and not a leg.

4. A tail is still a tail even if it's called a leg.
I've never heard it called a leg before, though,

One, since you have redefined a leg as something other than those four appendages formerly known as legs.

ADDENDUM: Lincoln apparently didn't think the question through enough. A word is a symbol, and the symbol is not the thing. Symbols can be redefined.

It depends on what you mean... names are arbitrary in reality... it only means anything if both people agree on what a leg is... other wise it could just as well be a table. so as I know it and recognize it, it would have four legs. But that's only if you and I mean the same thing with the word "leg"

You can call it a leg, but that doesn't make it one. The dog has 4 legs.

4, just cause you call a tail a leg doesn't make it a leg. Why is this question in Vegetarian and Vegan?

Four. I think I've read that Abraham Lincoln once asked the same question.

A dog has four legs, period. Sometimes they don't even have a tail. Is that what being a vegetarian does to the thought process?

I'm glad I'm a meat eater.

Four-doesn't what you call the tail, it's still a tail.
