Although nuts are a good source of protien..there are better ones so dont worry about that. Fish is not part of a vegetarian lifestyle anyway. Vegetarians do not eat dead animals.
Whole grain products, beans, peas, soy are all great sources but almost everything has protein...even veggies. You actually dont need as much as you think you do.

Soybeans spring to mind. Lots of other beans would have protein too. Milk and eggs would have protein, if you
consider them within the bounds of "vegetarian".
I understand the trick is to get enough vitamin B-12.

Beans are a good source of protein, so is tofu and other soy products, if you are allowing yourself animal products eggs and dairy products are a good source of protein.

Healthy, cheap, delicious, and a source of protein, but make sure you supplement it with corn or rice, so you get the full protein benefit.

different types of beans would be a good source and you would also get some fiber and folic acid too. (pinto, navy, etc.)
