I have t-minus 1 hour before my company arrives and I realized that I don't have a frosting for my pineapple upside-down cake! I do not have any brown sugar either. How do I caramelize cane sugar? Google will not pull up any decent answers. I have cane sugar, evaporated milk, strawberry juice, orange juice, and of course, pineapple juice from the can. Any ideas? If not, caramelizing cane sugar should work.

It's the one they usually have on tabletops at Japanese restaurants, with the double-sided spout. I've tried using a towel around it to cause friction but it still doesn't budge at all.

I bought a five pound bag of limes for cinco de mayo thinking we would use a lot, and we used about 2... I don't want to just juice them, but I'm not coming up with any better recipes that call for more than just one or two limes. Any ideas? can you freeze them? In my english class, our assignment is to create the horrendous looking cake spoken of in the novel "Great Expectations". However, the cake still has to taste delicious. I made a two tiered Mother's day cake for my mom, and she took the leftovers to work to share with the girls. Now they are wanting me to make and bake them cakes.
