It's not steak if I can't have A-1 with it. I also like to add a few crumbles of bleu cheese or a dollop of bleu cheese salad dressing to the A-1, a la the old Applebees' recipe.
Delicious!

I just use a little Montreal Steak Seasoning. Having to put sauce on a steak means the steak has no taste or is too dry. I try not to use sauce unless the steak is bad.

Usually a steak should have a good amount of it's own juice, along with the seasonings on the meat that you shouldn't need steak sauce when prepared well. But since this happens rarely, you will need A-1 or Worcestershire most of the time. So I'm going to vote "Yay"

NO!!! Why ruin a good steak with any kind of sauce? A good steak should be enjoyed with maybe a touch of seasoning.

Every once in a while I will eat steak with A-1. Usually I just have the A-1 on plain rice. (OK, I know that is weird.)

Pan cook the steak (cast iron is best).
Add red wine, white wine, or just use water to the pan drippings, even if it doesn't look like there are any.
The liquid deglazes the pan and gets all the leftover flavor.
Let it simmer for a few minutes, add some chopped fresh parsley at the end.
Pour over steak.
It's also really good if you add a little butter but I just can't bring myself to do that for a regular meal because of the fat content....
