I tried using some dry rub on a steak rubbed down with a little oil and I seared it in a pan, but it ended up having a black burnt shell instead of a yummy brown crust. Are dry rubs only for grill?

I'm trying to figure out why every time I drink an alcoholic drink, I am repulsed by the bitter, caustic, medicinal taste, yet others are absolutely in heaven when they put these drinks in their mouths. Does alcohol really taste that good, or do most of you guys just wanna get hammered (because it's cool)? So if eating feces created a buzz, would it suddenly taste good? Seriously, I wanna know.

My Soy Protein Powder from Trader's Joe says 'water processed' and no preservative or artificial flavors and colors. Its not organic though and I have read that if soy is not organic then a petroleum solvent called hexane might have been used to process soy! But since they say 'water processed' on the label I wonder if that means no hexane was used. Anybody know?

i would like to know how many calories are in tazo iced tea? i've been searching for info on the caloric content of their teas and cant seem to find it anywhere. does anyone know the calories in tazo tea from the bags/where i can find it? i am especially interested in the calories of the wild sweet orange flavor. I froze some strawberries in a zip lock bag and a week later I wanted to make a smoothie. But then the smoothie tastes werid and I was wondering if it was the strawberries that I froze....

so I wanted to know if you freeze strawberries in a zip lock bag and leave it for a week, it would be spoiled or not.

I started drinking stouts and now I can't drink pale beer. It just doesn't taste right. How do they make a stout, and why do other beers just not taste right anymore. (Although I do still like a Hefferweisen(SP?) every now and again.

in a slow cooker, using some or all of these ingredients. I have:
3 lb roast
celery
potatoes
carrots
fresh green beans
cream of celery soup
plenty of herbs and spices

a lot of meat free soy products , the soy is processed,or genetically modified garbage. just something like processed cheese. so i have for the most part stayed away from it.
i have also read a lot about eastrogen qualities in soy. anyone had any problems in this recpect with it ?
