look at the ingredients and see what it says. The green tea may just be freeze dried green tea concentrate, but even that may not be as nutritious as real green tea. But, if it tastes good to you, then it's probably better than other sodas!

EDIT: i googled crystal light but couldn't find anything..here's ingredients for a similar product:

Bigelow Tea In No Time Iced Tea Mix has 90% Fewer Calories than leading soft drinks. Non-Carbonated Healthy Diet Drink Beverage on the go!

Ingredients: Tea Flavor [Tea Essence, Maltodextrin* (from wheat, gluten free), Gum Arabic], Green Tea Flavor [Tea Essence, Maltodextrin* (from wheat, gluten free), Gum Arabic], Instant Green Tea, Citric Acid (provides tartness), Aspartame, Natural and Artificial Flavor, Silicon Dioxide (prevents caking),
*Contributes a negligible amount of sugar.

I don't know what tea flavors are, but I'm sure they're added to make the thing taste like tea. Then you have the sweetener, then you have instant green tea which is probably the most real thing in the drink. And because it's the 4th or 5th ingredient, there's probably not much real tea in there. The rest is preservatives. I don't know much about instant green tea, but it's probably just concentrated tea crystals that contain ECGC to make the antioxidants claim.

If I were you, i'd drink this only when it's convenient and stick with the real stuff.

I'm not an expert on green tea but I can tell you that Crystal Light Green Tea does have antioxidants. It says it on the box. Each serving has 80 mg of AOX which is very good for the body. The good thing about it is that it does not have any sugars or calories. So if you're looking for the benifits of green tea, crystal light sure has them plus it tastes pretty good. I hate the taste of green tea but crystal light comes in different flavors which are really good.

it is real tea, but those crystal light packets contain so many more synthetic artificial preservatives and chemicals. I'd probably stay away from it.

According to the back of the box (the On the Go! version- individual packets to be put into 16.9-20 oz. water bottles), there's instant green tea in it. So, yes, there is actual green tea in it, but drinking Crystal Light green tea isn't as beneficial as drinking a real fresh brewed cup of green tea. There's bunch of other stuff added to the drink mix, and the tea is the instant kind in the first place. I have to admit, the Raspberry Green Tea flavor is pretty good. I haven't tried any of the other flavors yet, but I should warn you that the drink is very sweet- sweeter than most other bottled green teas. You may want to try a partial packet (maybe only half) if you like milder tea. This stuff is better as a refreshment than an actual cup of tea.

I found this info about the CL GT:
"Crystal Light Green Tea
Perennial low-cal favourite Crystal Light is jumping on the green tea bandwagon with its new drink mixes.
Green tea is often touted for providing lots of cancer-fighting antioxidants, and Crystal Light Green Tea provides 55 milligrams of antioxidants per serving, as well as vitamins A, C and E.
The powdered beverage is available in Honey Lemon and Raspberry flavors, and in 6-quart canisters as well as On The Go packets. The teas are sweetened with Splenda and contain five calories per serving.
The convenient On-The-Go packets, which can be poured into a bottle of water and shaken, are a refreshing alternative to water. The drinks taste more fruity than like green tea, but they’re a good way to get in the antioxidants if you don’t have a taste for traditional green tea."

You can always call the 1-800 number and ask them. They are very helpful to answer this kind of question.

No it is not....anytime sugar or any other additive is added to green tea, it is not effective any longer...

Everything crystal light makes has additives...

Real Green Tea is not very tasty...but it is very good for you.
