Corvat: Smirnoff makes flavored vodkas too (e.g. Black Cherry, total of 12 flavors in all). Absolut and Smirnoff both make a number of flavors and there is very little overlap (Citrus/Citron and Vanilla is about all). Pick a flavor and choose the brand that has it. If you want Citrus or Vanilla, I prefer Absolut over Smirnoff. As for recommendations, it really is a matter of preference. But, I like Citron (A), Vanilla (A), Pear (A) and Black Cherry (S).

If you are making mixed drinks where the majority is not vodka then use the cheaper smirnoff. If you are making regular vodka martini's (not stuff like appletini's) then go for the absolut. You are a fool to make drinks like screwdrivers with higher quality vodka's even if we are just talking about absolut.

Try Stolichnaya Vodka, it's a little bit more than
Smirnoff & Absolute Vodka but the taste and
smell is much more pleasent..!
But out of those two I'd choose Absolute Vodka.
Mainly because you can get different Flavours.!!
Smirnoff is the most Vile Vodka there is I reckon
it smells like DVD cleaning solution.!!
So like I said Try Stolichnaya Vodka it's Yummy.!!

For the price...Stoli really is the best, but if you have to choose between them, pick Absolut if you are trying to seem trendy, and Smirnoff if you want to have a better vodka that portrays a more sophisticated taste.

I prefer Absolute, but if going on a value oriented choice then pick Smirnoff, close in quality and cheaper in cost.

go with ur tastebuds- dont rely on labels. Absolut is more expensive because it is more filtered, but that also removes the fiery taste of the spirit. Fact is, American vodka is sold mainly for mixing girlie umbrella drinks, so manufacturers aim for the most taste neutral stuff they can produce.

Absolut is much better than Smirnoff, which is the Budweiser of vodka.
Almost any Polish vodka is better than both of them.

Well I know that this is against the trend but I prefer Smirnoff.
It is very pure and has an excellent flavor without all of the Euro-Vodka hype.
