I myself would rather spend $3--$5 on a refreshing Corona than a cheap bottle of Michelob or Miller Lite. What do you prefer?

I want to deep fry some hushpuppies. The oil is supposed to be about 350-375 degrees. I don't have a thermometer so how do I know what to set the stove at? The stoves heat settings are 1-10... so maybe 7 or so??

hear was is Orange Cream Fudge

INGREDIENTS:
3 cups white sugar
2/3 cup heavy cream
3/4 cup butter
1 (7 ounce) jar marshmallow cream
1 (11 ounce) package white chocolate chips
3 teaspoons orange extract
12 drops yellow food coloring
9 drops red food coloring

DIRECTIONS:
Grease a 9 x 13 inch pan.
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, cream and butter. Heat to soft ball stage, 234 degrees F (112 degrees C). Remove from heat and stir in marshmallow cream and white chocolate chips; mix well until the chips melt. Reserve 1 cup of mixture and set aside.
To the remaining mixture add orange flavoring, yellow and red food coloring. Stir well and pour into prepared pan. Pour reserved cream mixture on top. Using a knife, swirl layers for decorative effect.

I would like to keep things pretty inexpensive. Though I am vegetarian, I am not totally against serving food with meats to my guests. I recognize that vegetarianism is a personal choice. I would like everything to remain simple, nothing heavy, just light snacky things. I am not big on being fancy, so it is not going to be a formal sit down dinner. I am going to have a stawberry wedding cake, and I haven't chosen a beverage for the fountain yet, but I would prefer something pink if u have any ideas on that as well. I've been considering Shirley Temples (made with 7-Up and maraschino cherry syrup)... (I am a Christian so I will not be serving alcoholic drinks)
Thanks for your help!

My friend bought lobster from a fisher man but it was already dead, the same way you would buy fish. Is it safe to cook and eat lobster like this? Do you have to cook it while its still alive?
