I baked your pound cake today, the one with sour cream. It ran over the pan a lot and took a lot longer to back. Is this because I'm high altitude? Over 4000 ft. Still tastes really good! Thanks Paula H.

I want to cut sweet potatos thin and dehydrate them, how long would they have to dehydrate for?

My mom herd that dehydrated sweet potatos make a good dog treat and I want to try them for my dog.

I am doing a brine for some chicken, and the brine calls for 1/2 gallon of water (8 cups) and 7 cups of kosher salt. ( I have checked the recipe repeatedly out of fear that I read it wrong...but that's what it says...). The recipe says to bring the brine to a boil until all is disolved. I have been boiling this liquid for over an hour and just keep adding more water ( I have added 4 more cups of water) and I can't get the salt to break down any further. It's Kosher salt for sure. I'm assuming maybe there is a limit of the amount of salt that can be absorbed by water...

I drink about 2 glasses of red wine each week night with dinner. No other cocktails, spirits or blah blah blah. Then on weekends I have off, I tend to have about the norm (2 glasses of wine) and either 2 extra glasses or a few brews with hubby (he's a brew man) and call it quits. Is this bad? My prudish aunt says I am a bad influence for kids. But...we pay all our bills, have a nice home, we both work good jobs, and we never get drunk. Do I need to start AA or something?

There are tons of recipes for a jalapeno corn muffin glaze, but that is not the one they serve in the restaurant. Its a normal corn muffin with some kind of sweet glaze on top. Anybody have a recipe for this or something similar?

Don't you hate it when your good, handwritten answer is buried by a cut and pasted answer, especially recipes, from a website? I bet the entire allrecipes.com website has been posted to Yahoo Q&A in the cooking section. I think if people cut and paste recipes-which is a fine thing to do, I'm not complaining about that- I think they should have to atleast condense them. I think the practice would be good e-etiquette for the rest of us.
