Whenever I make pancakes, they suck. The best pancakes I've ever had were when I was in the states, they seem thicker and fluffier than the ones that seem to be everywhere in the UK. Any americans out there, or any pancake pros who can recomend me a good recipe?

I let my daughters decide what we would have for dinner tonight. I can't go back on my promise to follow through and they picked steak. I attempted to cook a few steaks years ago and needless to say... it was a disaster! I don't know the first thing about what type of steak to even buy. Can someone please tell me what type of steaks I should buy or the differences in them and how I should cook them? Grilling is out of the question. It's mighty cold outside. :) Thanks for your help and God bless!

Unfortunately I cannot remember the name of the dish. It was a very rich cream sauce and may have had mushrooms in it.

I am not a vegetarian, but lately I have been craving vegetables over meat. RIght now I feel like it's a healthier choice for me, plus I am a broke college student, so buying lots of meat is not always an option. I don't like soy, which I know is an option. Does anyone have any other ideas?

We will be having a party in July of 75-100 people. I'm thinking of traditional grilled meats, burgers, brats, chicken. I'd like ideas for unique side dishes that will hold up in the heat for a couple of hours with ice trays underneath. Any other grilled meat ideas would be good too. Maybe ham? Also does anyone know if/where you can rent a restaurant style cooler? I am in Milw. WI
Thanks alot!

I just made soup by boiling a rotisserie chicken once I had removed all of the breast meat. I boiled it then I separated all of the white and dark meat. Returned it to the pan and made a wonderful mushroom soup. Any other ideas?

I LOVE Hot & Sour Soup. And especially a certain vegetable that I find in it. I cannot seem to get an answer as to what it is. It is a long, thin, green strip that often has black spots on the outside. It is soooo good! I know it's not bok choy, celery, green onions, bamboo, etc... And I just cannot figure it out! Can anyone help me find out my mysterious ingredient?
