I bought 5 absolutely fabulous looking oranges at the local Farmer's Boy. They would've been accepted for sale at Harrod's Food Store I'm sure! Once peeled however, they were dry and brittle. No juice at all.
Is there a way of telling what they're like inside, by studying the outside?

Because of my job location, my only 2 lunch choices are the company cafeteria :( or bringing my own food :)

I like to cook and don't mind making the effort, but I'm beginning to run out of ideas. Can anyone give me some suggestions?

Living in Japan the thought occurred to me, that as a child. Breakfast was only cereal, eggs, meat and pork. We never ate vegetables - now for 10 years, living in japan - i cant remeber the last time i had meat for breakfast - why are we bred not to eat Vegetables for breakfast in the USA - give me some examples from common restaraunt items for Vegetables other than a western omelette
and on another note -
japanese often eat Miso, konbu (seaweed), a katsuo dashi (bonita/jackmackeral)consumme) for soup, Natto -fermented soybean curd) - no wonder japanese are thin and have less heart disease than americans who feast on cheese, eggs, white breads, suasages, bacon, margerine (Dbl gross) = i am surely ranting - i am ranting

It's definitely butterCUP and not butterNUT - it looks like this: http://www.landcareresearch.co.nz/news/images/squash.%20resizeJPG.JPG

I was thinking about using it in a soup - roasting it first and then pureeing it with some other veg.
Anyone have any tried and tested recipes or top tips on cooking with this type of squash? I've had a look on google and found some interesting stuff but would like to hear other people's experiences.

I've not used or eaten any type of squash much before but I'm trying to expand my horizons and eat more seasonally available produce.

Cheers!

I'm a beer girl myself, but recently I'm trying to tone up some body parts, but still want to be able to have an occasional drink without feeling like it's all going to my waist. Know any good drinks?

I eat long pasta (tagliatelle and spaghetti types) with a fork and spoon - rolling it onto the spoon using the fork.

With noodles I try really hard not to cut them (the Chinese think this would be bad luck) but eat with a knife and fork rather than chopsticks.

How do you eat such food?

Thanks for having a look! I'd really like to know a recipe or two for chana pindi that is as easy as possible. I tried looking on other sites, but they all look so complicated! Thank you for any input!

I need a fun, easy recipe for pre-school kids to prepare. It can't have any sugar (or stuff with sugar in it) and should include only a minimal amount of starch. We've done fruit kabobs a lot - so if you know of something other than that - especially something that might require baking or cooking - that would be great.
