can someone be alergic to aspartame?
I can drink pop but whenever I try a sip of diet coke my stomach gets queasy. I can not finish a whole can of diet pop, I'm afraid I'd vomit if I did. I've also tried diet iced tea and this is the same. Diet pop & iced tea contain aspartame. Recently I've tried
"Iced tea 0" that is made with splenda (has no sugar or aspartame). I feel fine after drinking this.
could I be allergic to aspartame?
(do you have any sources of others allergic to it)?

I have read and heard that the baby cows used to make veal are chained to a pole in one spot so they can not move and gain muscles (because muscles means less tender meat). I have heard that when they bring these baby cows to slaughter, they can't even walk (because they never have). I was so disgusted that I was telling others who had no idea, when I came across one that said this is only done in other countries and is not done in the US - is this true?

I'm on a 1200 calorie Diet and for Dinner Thursday Night, I'm going to make Stuffed Chicken Breast and something else with it. The calories for the Chicken Breast itself is 140. That still leaves me with 260 calories. Does anyone know some good side dishes in that calories range. Maybe just one that is 260 or two or three that equal up to 260?

Thanks

I have been reading previous questions on the difference between baking soda and baking powder, the former is activated by an acid and the latter by water. I have an old family coffee cake recipe which calls for both but I don't know that any of the other ingredients are acidic (butter, sugar, cinnamon, sour cream, eggs, salt and flour). If indeed none of these ingredients are acidic, is there some other logic for using both baking soda and powder. One last piece of info...the recipe calls for 1/2 tsp of baking soda and 1-1/2 tsp baking powder. Any info would be appreciated.

I acidentally picked up a bottle of White Merlot last night instead of my usual White Zin. It tastes really good, but I can't decide which one's better.

lately I've been making all kinds of dishes from all over the world. I love cooking w/ coconut milk, making curries (green w/ prawns), and all sorts of breads.

What is your favorite dish, what region is it from?

Include recipe if you want, I might make =)(

I have a french bread in a paper that sat too long and turned into a hard, dry brick. I was wondering if anyone knows the best way to restore this bread to a soft and moist state?
