It depends on the mood you are in at the time. I think they are equally good. Try either wine chilled with a nice bubble bath w/ candles lit and jazz playing in the background. make your decision then.

I love the sweet, fruity taste of a nice white zinfandel. Turning Leaf is my prefered brand, as not many others capture TL's fullness and flavor. I've not tried white merlot, but doubt anything would pull me away from my sweet zin.

I prefer white merlot. It is less sweet but not dry, fruity and has more flavor. Neither would be the choice of a wine snob but drink what you enjoy.

zinfandel is fruity..merlot is a dry wine which leaves more of a bitter taste in your mouth.
