and could i eat it and nothing else and still be healthy?

I have heard oatmeal described as the "perfect" food. I doubt, though, that there is ONE food that will be totally nutritious to fill all your needs. That's why there are all the food groups, because you need some of each of them.

No one food would give you the proper nutrients to be healthy and keep up your immune system. Try a "whole foods" approach. Some of the most nutritious foods are spinach, broccoli, kale, bok choy, non-fat yogurt, and blueberries. Check the listed source for a whole variety of nutritious foods.

They say oatmeal, but thats not necessarily true. You need the right amount of carbs, protein, glucose, etc to stay fit. Carbs are on the bottom of the food pyramid and so it is a huge factor health-wise, but other nutrients are just as, or even more so, important.

Therefore, even if oatmeal is a carb that you should be eating, you can't live with the other nutrients.

water is important too :) probably even more so than all those other nutrients

TOFU, it's an oriental food that is very rich in protein..some bodybuilders use the it (in the form of soya milk).
