When I cook meat then drain it, what am I draining? It's the stuff that looks red before cooking and brown afterwards. It is blood or what? Is it healthy or not?

I was raiding my freezer this morning when I came across a packet of fish fillets that had the sell by date of April ’06. Just wondered if it is still ok to eat, or shall I throw it away?

It’s one of them fish, where it comes in a plastic packet with some source in it & you boil it for 20 mins. etc

I'm a French student studying for one year in JNU in Delhi and I have to write a paper on French wines in India.

Therefore, I would be glad :
- to have any kind of information on French wines in India
- to know your thoughts or opinions on French wines (even negative ones of course)
- to know what the words "French wines" make you think of, what image you have of it
- or even, if you've never tasted French wine, what prejudices you have for or against them, and whether you would like to try them or not.

I bought a piece of fresh ginger root at the store and I've never actually cooked with ginger before. The recipe calls for 1 tsp of ground ginger, how do I do that? Do I peel the skin? I have no idea what to do with this ginger root...

I live in U S --------state of Tennessee and make my own beer.I just bottled about 7gallons over the weekend and plan to let it age several b/4 drinking and i'll let you have some of that too with cheese and crackers and maybe some souse ( hog fead parts ears,and all grissles ground-up with sage and crushed red pepper and allowed to jel into a loaf after cooking similar to baloney or cols cuts)you want some not healthy but tastey ??Its nicknamed is "hog head cheese"..
